Way to Good Credit Card

[04:51:54 AM Thursday, August 09, 2007]

Is building a great credit score that difficult? The answer is yes and no. In today's society, at least in the United States and United Kingdom, everyone wants something quick, now fast! But is this realistic? Credit should be built upon slowly.

There are no shortcuts when it comes to gaining the trust of credit card companies worldwide. Creditors want to know they can trust you before they unload thousands of dollars worth of credit lines on your shoulders.

These credit card companies have just been burned so many times that they don't want to experience it again through you! The good news is, you can get the top credit cards UK and the US top credit cards- but you'll have to have patience!

If you don't have credit, you could be a student or young folk, and then you will have to start from the bottom. As they say, "It is better to have no credit than to have bad credit!" Even if you have a poor credit history, you can battle back to have an excellent credit history. The key to good credit is understanding the finer points of how credit works. So here we go...

Understand why you need credit! This is the first step to a better future- knowing why you need credit. Credit is your key to pretty much everything in life. If you want to find the best credit card offers or get a good mortgage or car loan you will need good credit. Those with bad credit are constantly getting rejected as far as expenses go.

Even when you apply for a good job you will have your credit score checked to make sure you are a trustworthy person. When someone is assessing whether or not you are a good financial person they will look at two things- your credit score and your credit report.

Because everyone will be looking at your credit report very closely it is important to take the proper steps in building your credit slowly. The better your credit rating, the better your chances at realizing all that you want and need.

When you start showing promise in your credit report you will start seeing lower interest rate credit cards and instant approval credit cards coming your way. Credit card companies' love rewarding those card holders's that show promise in their financial dealings and they will do everything in their power to keep them as a client.

If your credit is sub-par you will get all the credit card applications for bad credit- which come attached with sky high APRs and surcharges around every corner! You want to save money? Work on improving your credit score!

If you want to play an active role in improving and protecting your credit then you should follow these helpful guidelines. Here are a few things that will help you develop a credit report that will have creditors drooling over you!

  • Look your current credit report over carefully! Even if you are brand new in the world of credit you should still take a close look at your credit report. You can do so by going to any of the three credit bureaus in the United States- Trans-Union, Experian or Equifax.

Looking at your credit report will help you determine if anyone has stolen your identity (which is more prevalent then you may think) and what other activity is going on with your credit. Most people (nearly 80 percent) find wrong information in their credit report that hurts their credit score!

  • Apply for a good credit card! So, you want to build credit as soon as you can as fast as you can? The best way is to apply for an unsecured credit card. If you are a student, get a student credit card; if you have bad credit, get a credit card application for bad credit. Getting an unsecured credit card is your quickest way to building credit. The more responsibility you show when using the card will help you get a great credit card offers in the future.
  • Open a savings account! If you don't have one already, opening a savings and checking account will show that you are serious about your finances. Creditors will see that you are taking the proper steps in paying your bills and saving for the future. This is good!
  • Get as many bills in your name as possible! The more of your bills you have in your name, the better! The key is to act responsibly with your bills. It will hurt your credit if you have a lot of bills in your name, but neglect to pay them! If you can pay your bills on time and in full you will soon have an excellent credit score!

Having great credit isn't a mystery and it shouldn't be complicated, it just takes good old fashioned patience!
