Prestigious credit cards with tangible benefits
[March 11, 2011]
It is time to get yourself one of the “prestigious” credit cards in the market if you have a good credit score to your backing. There are a number of such credit cards in the market offering perks and limitless spending.
There are many brokerage firms offering credit cards to people who can afford the price tag. The Invest First Visa Card, launched by Charles Schwab in 2008, was a card without any annual fee and offered a cashback of 2% on every purchase made using the card. This card has no limit on spending and came with a Visa signature imprinted on it. The heavy rebates offered on this card proved to be steep for the firm which then transferred the card over to their partner, FIA. Though existing customers can continue using these cards with the benefits that were offered with it, new applications are not encouraged.
Among the current set of prestigious card, the HSBC Premier Card and the American Express Centurion Card are the most desirable. While the former is a great choice for a wealthy traveler, the latter is a symbol of wealth and status.
The HSBC Premier Card is offered to existing clients with an HSBC Premier account with a balance of $100,000 in investments and cash. Card holders can have $2000 wired to any bank in case of emergencies and also get a lost card replaced overnight from anywhere in the world.
Meeting the qualifying criteria for one of the most prestigious cards in the world, The American Express Centurion Card, is not a child’s play. Applicants for this card should have a Platinum card and shop for up to $250,000 using the card. That’s not all. The annual fee on this card is $2500, and it costs $5000 to avail it, thereby making it accessible only for the elite class of people.
