Delta SkyMiles Credit Cards
[06:37:27 AM Thursday, December 18, 2008]
Delta and American Express have announced a multiyear extension of their beneficial partnerships. The two companies have been providing a range of co-branded credit offers since 1996. The cardholders can earn Delta SkyMiles and use them to pay for all or part of their flight.
The new extended agreement will be beneficial for both companies. Delta will receive a $2 million from a purchase of SkyMiles and contract improvements. American Express will be able to grow the value of its co-branded rewards cards and increase merchant acceptance in the Midwest.
The agreement will help American Express offer its customers new expanded options for booking travel. The cardholders will be able to redeem miles for any seat, any time on the world's largest airline. Plus, the company will get access to a broader Delta network: in October the carrier bought Northwest Airlines and plans to merge Northwest's WorldPerks reward program with Delta's SkyMiles reward program in late 2009. This is a great opportunity for AmEx to expand in the Midwest region of the United States.
President and CEO of American Express Consumer Services said that working with Delta for nearly 30 years has helped the credit company to strengthen cardholder loyalty and expand their business. The Delta co-branded rewards credit cards are among the most successful and longest-running financial products available on the market. The loyalty programs was named "Best Domestic Frequent Flyer program" by readers of Executive Traveler magazine in 2007 and 2008.
The award-winning Delta SkyMiles rewards program provides multiple mileage-earning opportunities. You can choose among several co-branded credit cards designed for customers with good to excellent credit. The difference is in the details of the rewards program and in the amount of annual fee. You can compare the various frequent flyer credit offers online and choose the one according to your way of life and spending pattern.
