Credit card deals flooding the market again
[12:00:00 AM Saturday, July 09, 2011]
If you are seeing a number of incoming emails from credit card lenders offering you great credit card deals, you are not dreaming. Today, lenders have come up with offers from all of them ranging from the youth to retired professionals. If you have an excellent to good credit card rating, you are in luck since issuers are willing to stretch themselves thin to get you into their customer database.
A retired employee from Sacramento, Lee Marengo, said that she and her spouse are being sent innumerable lucrative credit card offers via mail. This 84 year old lady who has been handling her credit card wisely and paying off her balance regularly has been getting great deals which also include cash back of 5% on pharmacy and grocery purchase and also at gas stations. Though Marengo uses just one card, she said she would not mind applying for another one if something really attractive popped in her mail. She is just one among the millions who are getting these offers daily.
The lenders not only toned down their marketing significantly during the recession, they also faced challenges in the form of the CARD Act in the recent past. However, they have now left all this behind them. With the economy showing good signs of recovery and customers showing signs of on-time repayment, lenders are willing to come out of their shells again and market aggressively to regain their market share. Another encouraging sign is the fact that the interest rates and other fees have stabilized significantly which has in turn resulted in customers clearing off their dues on time without defaults.
