The mail boxes of credit card customers are receiving offers for 0% APR credit cards, after witnessing months of accounts being closed and the credit limits constantly being lowered. The 0 percent introductory offer seems more or less like the bank's way of showing that they made a mistake and would want their customers back. Credit card customers dumped by the card issuers always seem to remember the card issuer, for being dumped is not a very pleasant affair. Now, in order to get back the customers, card issuers are going all out to please them and win them back. The 6 months 0% APR is not really very attractive. But if card issuers really want their customers back, the 24 months 0% APR can turn the tide for them as it is going to be a very attractive deal. However, the one thing that credit card customers have to be careful about is the fact that most offers are as good as empty.

The balance transfer fee on credit cards, during the month of November has dropped slightly to reach 3.63%. This is a moderate decrease from the previous month's average of 3.68%. The average balance transfer fee during the month of September though was slightly higher at 3.88%. Part of the reason for this reduction of balance transfer fees, is the fees charged by 2 balance transfer cards from Citibank. Apart from these two cards, the average balance transfer fee remains the same from last month.

Due to the credit crunch interest-free balance transfer offers were withdrawn a couple of years ago.
