[05:12:59 AM Thursday, March 06, 2008]

Citi's Challenging Credit Card Partnership with Live Nation

Citi announced the exclusive credit card partnership with Live Nation, the U.S. largest concert promoter and ticket retailer. The challenging marketing alliance will promote Live Nation's comprehensive live music platform and give exclusive benefits to Citi credit card holders. With the deal, Citi replaces American Express, whose relationships with Live Nation dated back to 1999.

Citi has already got Private Pass program offering card holders pre-sale tickets for music shows, sports events and theater performances. The partnership with Live Nation will enable the company to offer new opportunities to their customers.

Citi is one of the major financial corporations in U.S. It has about 200 million customer accounts and does business in more than 100 countries. Citi's major brand names include Citi Cards, CitiFinancial, CitiMortgage, CitiInsurance, Primerica, Diners Club, Citi Private Bank, and CitiCapital. The exciting new partnership will make Citi the "official credit card partner" of Live Nation. It allows the company to enrich Private Pass Program and come with new benefits for billions of City credit card holders. The new benefits include the ability to buy presale and preferred tickets, VIP seats and box seats at select venues, get exclusive merchandise and meet with popular artists.

In addition to these plans, Citi will get the opportunity to take part in future Live Nation's initiatives. They will be able to name the venues and work out ticket sales plans. It is expected that Citi's slogan and logo will appear on Live Nation website and documents. Don't be surprised if your see "Citi" on your concert tickets or before the name of your local Live Nation concert hall or a club.

Vik Atal, Chairman and CEO of Citi Cards said that the company is constantly searching for new ways to build deeper relationships with their existing credit card holders and attract new customers. They believe that the alliance with a live entertainment giant will allow City to provide exclusive perks that no other credit card company can offer. City's customers in U.S. will get access to the concerts and live events they want to see most. They can attend shows that are organized for City credit card holders only or buy concert and theater tickets before they are available for sale.

Live Nation is considered to be the future of the music business. The company has a unique comprehensive concert search engine, provides exclusive access to various events and festivals and gives special opportunities to connect with the most popular artists. The partnership between Live Nation and Citi represents a new level of strategic alliance that will be beneficial for both companies. It will help boost online ticket sales for Live Nation and offer new perks and credit rewards for City card holders.
