Business Cards Control Cash Flow

Cash Flow and Business Credit Card Offers
Small businesses often have problems with cash flow. It is the number one most stressful ingredient in running your own business. When sales go down even a little you can suddenly find cash in short supply. When sales are up and you have lots of inventory coming in you may still find cash in short supply when your bills come due each month.
One way that small business owners can reduce the stress levels they constantly deal with in their work lives can be to take advantage of a new credit card offer to lighten the load on their cash flow a little.
It may sound crazy that a credit card can help with cash flow. Credit cards create debt and carrying debt may not sound like a something good, but it can actually be a very effective way deal with some large expenses that would otherwise use up cash that will be needed to pay for inventory, payroll and tax remittances to the government.
Every small business owner knows that there are some unexpected expenses around the corner. You simply cannot anticipate all of them. A restaurant may not be able to determine when their expensive stove will conk out and need replacing. An accountant may not be able to pinpoint which network server will be the victim of a freak electrical short that requires a quick replacement of expensive business property. These are unexpected expenses. Every small business owner also knows that such unexpected costly circumstances usually come at the worst possible times.
Using a business credit card to cover such sudden and large debts can be an excellent emergency measure for you. This is one of the greatest advantages of having credit cards both in your business and in your personal life. They are the very best, most accessible funds in emergencies.
Business and Personal
As a small business owner you may well be used to using your own personal funds for your business expenses. You may also be very aware that your business credit cards are usually issued with you being personally responsible for their payment. If your business fails or cannot make the necessary payments then you personally must make the payments.
This is something that small business owners deal with all the time. Many people can hardly find the dividing line between their personal finances and their business ones. Sometimes the business pays for personal items and vice versa, especially in the earlier part of your business’ life.
When you accept a credit card offer for your business you will most likely be issued credit in your own name rather than that of the business. Your personal credit score is what will matter in the approval of credit cards. Your personal income and debt load will also play a role in how you are viewed by the banks and credit card companies alike. This is because you are your business and your business is you.
Only when businesses become incorporated or otherwise non-personal can you totally separate your personal finances from your business finances.
Take Advantage of Your Good Credit
If you have good credit, you should take advantage of some credit card offers out there that you may want to use for your business. For example, perhaps you have received an invitation to apply for a Visa card with no annual fee, a low rate and cash back. Even if you do not necessarily need to open a new account, think about this kind of credit card for those emergencies that you cannot predict.
Having a good credit card available with a low rate of interest can be a real life saver when you need to use it for something completely unexpected. It is almost like a great little insurance policy for you if you need it. If you don’t need it, then don’t use it. Keep it protected for those emergencies only. Be very careful what you are willing to call an emergency as well so that you do not talk yourself into using the card for something small. If you use your emergency credit card too much for everyday things you will end up with a large credit card bill at the end of the month and that will use up the cash flow that you were trying to keep as free as possible.
